Scientific Name: Tragopan blythii
Blyth’s tragopan is a resident bird found in the Indian States of Nagaland, Assam, Mizoram, and Manipur. Blyth’s tragopan is listed as “Vulnerable” in the IUCN Red List. It is also listed in Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

Local name: Lal Buransh (Hindi), Dieng-tiw-saw (Khasi), Nithu (Angami), Lindai (Mao).

Scientific Name: Alnus nepalensis
Common Name: Alder Tree, Nepal Alder, Himalayan Alder
It is a fast-growing large deciduous tree with smooth, grey, or dark-grey colored bark. The root nodules are also capable of fixing atmospheric Nitrogen and therefore this tree is planted after the fire in Jhum cultivation in Nagaland.

Local Name: Katley/Katli
Chocolate Mahseer is also the State Fish of Sikkim, declared in 2021.
