The Hornbill International Rock Contest is a rock contest event during the annual Hornbill festival held in Nagaland during 1-10 December. The event is organized by Music Task force (now Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA)), Government of Nagaland , which is perhaps the only Government supported Music Task Force in the country.
With attractive cash awards, the Hornbill International Rock Contest have attracted many local bands as well as bands from neighboring states and beyond.

Hornbill International Rock Contest was discontinued from 2019. It was replaced by ‘The Great Hornbill Rock’, where in, auditions will be held for ‘Ticket to Hornbill’ and winners from the districts of the state, along with other national bands, will perform under one roof.
