K. Chumseli Sangtam from Kiphire appointed as ISF Nagaland Chapter State Coordinator.

  • Indian Speaker’s Forum (ISF) on June 4, appointed 25 year old K. Chumseli Sangtam from Kiphire as ISF Nagaland chapter state coordinator.
  • K. Chumseli Sangtam was felicitated by minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, government of India, Kiren Rijiju for the best participation award at national declamation contest in New Delhi on January 25, 2020 and was also the winner of state declamation contest on November 12, 2019 in Kohima.
  • The programmes were organized by NYKS ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs.

Nagaland Police releases action taken report registered against armed elements and extortionists

  • Close on the heels of the letter of the Nagaland Governor R.N. Ravi addressed to the chief minister in which he expressed deep concern at the collapse of the law and order machinery in the state, Nagaland Police released statistics of action taken against armed elements / underground and extortion-related cases made up a majority of the offences.
  • Total Cases registered in the past 5 years: 893
  • Total Persons arrested in the past 5 years: 1238
  • District with highest cases was registered against extortionists: Dimapur
  • Dimapur: 507 cases was registered and 723 extortionists were arrested.
  • Kohima: 105 cases registered and 126 extortionists arrested.
  • 95% of these criminal cases were registered as suo-moto FIRs.
